bearing pack on disc brakes

I am installing the grand slam kit on my 66 chev truck. When packing the bearings, does the area on the hub between the bearings need to be filled with grease? My shop manual says yes for drums. Are discs the same?

As long as the bearing is packed correctly there is no need to fill the empty area...
