I have the Ford 9" Rear Axle Brake Braket Kit, 5x5.5, and the discs are 12".
The stock studs have a shoulder that sticks out for the old drums to line up with, and does not allow the disc to sit flush against the axle. Also, the thickness of the disc, makes me think I need longer studs, more threads.
I was hoping that someone has this same issue, and has found a part number where I could just order new studs, rather than machining and re-creating new studs.
So, Has any one else run into this issue?
How did you solve?
I have read online these options:
- ream/bevel out the discs stud holes, so the stud shoulder fits into the disc
- get oversized studs, drill out the axles to allow studs to fit
Thanks.
