Drag racing came to the Lehigh Valley in 1955 with the formation of the Lehigh Valley Timing Association. They helped bring this fast-growing speedway sport to the region by organizing and coordinating the events at Queen City and the Vargo Dragway – built specifically for these high-speed warriors and their commanding chariots -- in the 1960s.
