The interior is distinctively trimmed in Yellow and Mint Green two-tone leather, plus double-loop Tan Corvette carpeting. The dashboard, dashboard, armrests, steering wheel, and console are made of rich Mahogany. A custom console and seat grace the rear passenger compartment, while 1966 Thunderbird clamshell-style seats are up front. Dolphin analog gauges, an electric clock, and Vintage Air round add further distinction.
The Ford now rides on a 2 X 4-inch Art Morrison chassis equipped with 6-inch Air Spring Plus suspension. The front underpinnings are chromed, as is the rear 4-link suspension. Wilwood 4-wheel brakes provide sure stops. Power is delivered by a small- block 302 Ford V-8 equipped with a Holley 4-barrel carburetor, polished aluminum intake, hand-built custom air-cleaner cover, custom stainless-steel headers and polished exhaust, Tru-Trac belt drive, and lots of billet aluminum goodies. The aluminum transmission housing is polished, and a chromed Strange Engineering S-series 9-inch Ford rear axle with a 3.55:1 ratio delivers power to the road. A Lokar shifter and emergency brake are other great features. Chrome wheels, comprising 18-inch fronts and 20-inchers at the rear, are mounted with Toyo tires. Beautifully designed and executed, with clean, highly sophisticated bodylines, this exceptional 1951 Ford custom is a spectacular custom interpretation of the classic Ford “shoebox” and a fitting tribute to the metalshaping and customizing traditions.
