The new housing is stamped from 1/4-inch thick steel.
The 9-Inch Factory has released a new ¼-inch thick housing that offers increased rigidity and is further strengthened with double-width welds. The housing features a 360-degree, 3/8-inch thick inner mounting flange for third member reinforcement.
It is designed to stand up to 700+ horsepower in any form of competition, said the company. The new Extreme Duty unit can be ordered as a traditional 9-inch stepback or roundback.
It can ordered as a bare housing center as shown, to a housing and axle package, to a complete rear assembly with choice of limited slip, posi-traction, Detroit Locker, or spool.
There is also a variety of disc and drum brake options, a computer-bent stainless steel brake line kit and complete powder coating with custom assembly option. The rears come with 31- or 35-spline axles and big bearings.
