Pleasanton, CA - The Goodguys Racing Pro Mod ’69 Camaro driven by Marc Meadors is hitting the road this month with high hopes and big dreams. The first stop on the team’s inner mountain west mini tour will be at Firebird Raceway in Boise, Idaho this weekend for the 39th annual Pepsi Nightfire Nationals. Idaho’s premier racing event runs Thursday, August 12th through Sunday, August 15th. Meadors will take the Tim McAmis-built bright silver ’69 Camaro into battle in the West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod class, taking on the likes of Brett Williamson, Jay Diedrich, Rod Pearce, Rod Burbage, Dennis Radford and many other Pro Mod hitters.
From Boise, the team heads east to Morrison, Colorado for the Super Chevy Show August 20-22 at Bandimere Speedway where they will compete in the “Nitro Coupe/Pro Mod” exhibition. Meadors has fond memories of the last Super Chevy Show he ran, taking home the event win at Auto Club Dragway in Fontana, CA back in March 2009.
The team’s war chest is full of bullets and spare parts as they attempt to take home all the marbles at both tour stops. Competing with a Red Line Oil equipped 451-inch Brad Anderson hemi with a roots blower, the car has run a best of 6.16 @ 240mph. The team’s best performance this year was a semi-final finish at the Funny Car Fever event at Sacramento Raceway. With that kind of performance and Meadors’ lightning quick and ultra consistent reaction times, the Goodguys Racing ’69 Camaro warrants serious respect.
The Goodguys Racing crew of Jason Bunker, Jeff Accacian, Billy Fereira and Andy Fereira are poised and ready to make the team’s first trip to Firebird Raceway and Bandimere Speedway a successful one. The team will also have brand new tee shirts for sale at the trailer as well as hero cards for the kids. For more visit www.goodguysracing.com
