    Mr. John Najjar is remembered as one of the most gifted and talented automotive designers that was employed at Ford Motor Company. His story began with his birth on November 11, 1918 in Omaha, Nebraska. By 1932, Mr. John Najjar’s automotive journey emerged as a student in Eastern High School located in Detroit, Michigan. He found himself very involved with the school’s art classes which opened many doors for his great design work and accomplishments. Mr. Najjar received honors as an art student and became the art editor of the school newspaper and staff member of the school yearbook.

    In 1936, Mr. Najjar enrolled in Ford Motor Company's Apprentice School located in Dearborn, Michigan. One day, as Mr. Najjar was working a long shift, Mr. Henry Ford approached him during a plant tour and asked him if he enjoyed his line of work. Mr. Najjar didn’t hesitate to respond and stated that he would rather be drawing cars. After his response, Mr. Henry Ford asked to see his portfolio the following day for a possible job change. The next day, Mr. Henry Ford viewed Mr. Najjar’s portfolio and quickly became impressed with his work.     During the 1960-70s, Dodge introduced its new marketing advertising campaign that included the Dodge “Rebellion Girl”, the Dodge “Fever Girl”, and the Dodge “Material Girl”. The promotional campaign became an instant success for the Chrysler Corporation. The promotional spokesperson for the new 1968 Dodge models was Ms. Joan Parker. Throughout the 1968-69 automotive shows, Ms. Parker became the Dodge “Fever Girl” for television, radio, and public appearances. On a California radio station, a brief Christmas interview was held with Ms. Parker and broadcasted in Vietnam. Shortly thereafter, Ms. Parker received over 500 letters for American soldiers during the first season of her early campaign advertising for Dodge.     Sue Vanderbilt in a 1958 Cadillac Eldorado Seville “Baroness;" the show car that she styled for the Feminine Show. When you look back at General Motors’ rich design history, one of the most talented individuals, who made her career as part of GM’s vaunted Creative Design Team, was the late Suzanne E. Vanderbilt.

    Vanderbilt was one of the original Damsels of Design – a group of eight, great talented female designers that the famed Harley Earl hired during the early days of the 1950s.

    The year 1966 was a great year for automotive sales in the U.S. Many car manufacturers were doing very well for the economy and in 1966 the average cost for a new Dodge vehicle sold for $ 2,280 and the price of gasoline for 32 cents a gallon.
    The Chrysler Corporation was also doing very well within the automotive markets with its popular Dodge Dart models. The 1966 Dodge Dart models made their debut in Dodge dealerships on September 30, 1965.
