Default 55 Chev control arm bushing install?

I`m having a problem install my last control arm bushing in lower control arm. I`ve got it partially installed to where I need to set it in more by 1/4". It`s stalled at that point. I`ve used a bar clamp (using a "cheater " to compress). Any suggestions?

    Default

brace the arm from the inner sides and press it all together. Use a little WD or something to do this or if all else fails take it to a local machine shop!

    Default Eureka a solution!

Thanx for the info, Aaron. I had done all that you advised, even taken it to my local "mechanic", to no avail.
This time I heated (with propane torch) the surrounding boss around the bushing, taking care not to melt rubber bushing. This time I used a bigger cheater bar too, for more leverage. Problem solved now, with bushing seated correctly. I did bend the arm on my bar clamp though. It`s still quite serviceable still. That`s little price to pay for a vexing problem!
