Thread: TCI Anti-Sway Bar mounting

    Default TCI Anti-Sway Bar mounting

It is pretty well known that TCI instructions are lacking. It is a guessing game whether to mount the sway bar above the A-arm or below it. On the Custom IFS, such as what is on a TCI model A chassis, the bar is over the lower A-Arm. On a 48 Ford Truck with Mustang II, it is below. On a 47 Chevy Truck it is also below.

The end links supplied with the 48 kit, and possibly others, is now reduced in overall length. What is hard to tell without looking closely is that the mounting stub is now centered on the lower A-Arm tubing, instead of above it. Also, the A-Arms are now 1 1/8" tubing, rather than 1", at least that is true for the 48 Ford Kit.

If you go to the TCI site and download their latest catalog, the color photos are very up to date and now show the sway bars mounted on various years of vehicle frames. That would have been a godsend for me on the last two kits I installed.
