Thread: 48-52 Ford F-1 TCI Mustang II too wide

Default 48-52 Ford F-1 TCI Mustang II too wide

I put the doghouse on my truck after the tacking in this front end. It looks like even modest tires with standard backspaced rims will be too wide for the fenders.

I am at the GoodGuys Phoenix run this weekend and talked to two other guys who had the same issue. Apparently TCI makes a-arms that are 5/8" more narrow for this front end. This is what they should ship with this front end to begin with.

I have a TCI Mustang II on my 47 Chevy and it is the way it should be. It really tucks in the tires. The huge disparity in the way these kits are designed says the F-1 kit is plainly wrong.

Luckily I haven't powdered my front rims yet, so I can cheaply get another set with 1" more backspace.

TCI's A-arms are all standard now at 3/16" narrower per side. All mustang II models.
