Brodix/Lunati Cam Combo - Top-End Swap, Version 2[/B]
The last time we tried to get an upgrade for our cam, we didn't get the numbers we were looking for. With a few swaps however, this time we came to respectable (and more efficient) numbers.Back in the February '11 issue, we upgraded a GM Performance Parts 330hp crate motor with a Brodix Top End Kit and valvetrain stuff from Lunati. When we got all the parts installed and ran the engine on the dyno, the results were lackluster to say the least. We only added 27 hp and 11 lb-ft to the crate motor's baseline. Those numbers were not enough to justify the money or work that was invested. We realized our cam choice was not right to support the parts we had, so we picked up a different cam and stuffed it in.
