Thread: Master Cylinder Leaking

    Default Master Cylinder Leaking

    Hello All,
I'm using a CPP booster/master cylinder on a 65 Nova with front discs and rear drums.
I can not stop the cap on the master cylinder from leaking. Seems like the rubber seal
is where the leak is. Anybody else have this problem? If so, what's the fix?

    Thanks,
    David

Hello, yes I have the same problem with my master cylinder. I have a 1970 Plymouth Barracuda, purchased front disc brake kit from CPP, and have had nothing but troubles with the brakes and the technicians.
The tech told me to take some fluid out of the reservoir to correct the problem. If I take any more out, AIR will get into the lines. I never had to do that ever with any car or truck.

On the Nova master make sure the gasket is compressing on the master enough. Sometimes pinching the reservoir cap clip to tighten it can help. Also, if the master is overfilled it could seep.
