Saginaw 605/800 question
Do all Saginaw 605/800 boxes have the same lower spline? I am thinking about using a box like this to put power steering on a 1952 Buick Special. I borrowed a 800 box from a 1976 Nova to try. The Buick pitman arm has 32 splines as does the Nova box, but the pitman arm hole is a little too small. Also the Nova box does not drop down low enough to clear the bottom of the frame. Do some boxes have a longer pitman shaft? The old Buick box has about a 3-1/2" longer pitman shaft than the Nova.
