I recently purchased and installed a 400 series steering box (part no. 6774PSC-K400) in my '68 Chevy Nova.
When the box was installed and bled on jackstands, the steering felt good. But once the car was on the ground, the steering was difficult for the first quarter turn left or right. After more than a 1/4 turn of the steering wheel, the steering was very jerky and unpredictable. The box was also making noise.
Is it possible that the power steering lines are reversed? Or is the box defective?
I am using -6AN PTFE stainless steel lines, with the pressure side hooked up to the larger port (port on the right side).
Help would be appreciated. It seems like others are having this problem (see post #5 at #5). There are not even any installation instructions included!
